Faith Without Works Is a Dead Faith
James 2 says our faith is dead if we see our brother or sister naked or destitute of daily food and say to them “Go and be warm and filled” without meeting their need. Through God’s grace He has enabled us to provide food for the hungry, but we are also practicing the Biblical principle of reaping what we sow. With the few seeds we can provide, God produces a harvest to feed many. It is much better and more cost effective to teach people to grow their own food than to pay the cost and taxes of bringing food into the country.

Since 2000, Vision Beyond Borders has purchased and distributed over 30 million packs of seeds around the world, empowering orphans, widows, and poor villagers to feed themselves, provide for basic necessities, and become self-supporting.

VBB works with seed companies across the USA to buy discounted vegetable seeds in packs by the millions. Volunteers bundle them, pack them in duffel bags, and carry or ship them around the world, to countries including Romania, Laos, Vietnam, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Mozambique, Burma, Cambodia, North Korea, Nicaragua, Kenya, and the Congo. We are working on getting seeds to other parts of Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Results

We hope to see this project double from year to year. We receive reports from parents of their children growing bigger, and the cash crop enabling them to pay for their children’s school fees and basic medicines. This vision to plant food crops has decreased opium production as vegetable crops replace them in the fields.
