Special Ministries
Tending the Sick
Vision Beyond Borders delivers medicine, medical supplies and sponsors
medical teams who provide free treatment in remote villages, schools and
orphanages. VBB partners with other ministries to improve living conditions
by projects which include:
• Drilling wells and constructing toilets
•
Building schools, churches and orphanages
•
Helping Christians start small businesses in order that they can become
self-sufficient.
Clothe the Naked
Vision Beyond Borders volunteers carry tens of thousands of pounds of
clothing to children and families in more than twenty recipient countries
including Laos, Nepal, Burma, and Romania. Guideposts magazine has provided
over 5,000 hand-knit sweaters, which have been distributed all over the
world to help orphans and destitute village children. Vision Beyond Borders
has shipped over 200,000 pounds of clothing around the world.
Give Rest to the Weary
In many of the countries that Vision Beyond Borders visits, poverty drives
parents to leave their children in the streets to face sickness, prostitution
and possible death. Kind-hearted adults with a mission to make a difference,
sacrifice and work to provide a safe place for these children. VBB finds
sponsors to help these children’s homes. Vision Beyond Borders sponsored
two rickshaws to be used in Southern Nepal . The rickshaws originally
provided work for two families who otherwise would be digging rocks and
breaking them to make gravel. Breaking gravel for 11 hours in the hot
sun provided just $1 in daily earnings. Now 15 families are using additional
rickshaws to make $3-4 daily. The children are able to attend school and
change is taking place. The gift is multiplied as the two men put a percentage
of the profits back into the church to help more refugees as they move
into the village.
Vision Beyond Borders continues to look for similar projects to meet simple, yet profound needs. Resources and volunteers assist Christians develop greater self-sufficiency and prosper in their countries.
